About this tracker
Methodology
- Official sources only. Every entry links to the issuing agency, legislature, or district's own page or document. Press coverage can prompt research but is never the source of record.
- Each state on its own terms. States publish in different formats (guidance, model policy, law, board rule). We clean each state's data from its own source formats and document the method in that state's "Method" note.
- Flagged, not normalized. When something can't be verified (a missing file link, an undated document, a proposal), we flag it in amber and explain why instead of forcing it into a category.
Refresh cadence
- State entries: re-checked weekly.
- Districts: 6 new states researched per week, largest districts first.
- Flagged rows: re-checked monthly.
